Marks vs Rank, Tamil Nadu MBBS Merit List 2016

Tamil Nadu does not have an entrance exam for admitting students into MBBS stream. They use only the board marks scored by the students to generate the merit list. The marks scored by the students in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are used in the calculation.

The following formula is used to calculate the total marks for MBBS admissions:

% in Biology + Average of % in Physics and Chemistry

For example, let us assume that a student has scored 198 in Biology (99&), 196 in Physics (98%) and 194 in Chemistry (97%). His total marks for MBBS admission will be 99 + (98+97)/2 = 196.50. This mark is then used to rank the students.

Below is the marks scored by the candidates and their respective ranks as per the Tamil Nadu MBBS Merit List 2016 published by Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
